The HMRAV committee voted to ask me to remove the signature HMRAV Secretary from my postings. Their main issue is the sniping and back stabbing that goes on within this site. They feel the club does not need to be associated with such behavoiur and feel my signature associated the club with that behavoiur. I put an opposite case but was outvoted.
The second issue was my questions about potential Historic Winton race program which they have suggestted confused people.

Looking back I agree with them on that point.

From now on I will speak only in my role now as a promoter of Historic Racing in Vic. Again if I have a personal opinion I will always state that at the start.

See you around.

Thanks Glen and David.
I guess the upside is that as Chairman of the Historic management Committee I have to answer to MV.
I reckon if I maintain the decorum I have tried to maintain, announce a "personall comment" as I have tried
I may achieve more.
I seek feedback and advise.
One of the questions people asked was, how many people actually read the site and comment.
I know from my experience as a web master that there are many lurkers who read and say nothing.
But I have found they contact me one way or another and I have always felt the activity and time spent on web sites was worth it.
Lets see how things go.
Lets put egos aside and get more poeple racing because I think that is what its all about, is not that the case?

The offer has always been out there for clubs to have representives post on this site to not only promote the sport but their clubs, how narrow minded have some clubs become. If they can not trust their committee members to say the right thing with their comments, then why bother having a committee.

As for Alan C, we know why a few don't comment here.....

Glenn, It's interesting to consider who DOESN'T comment on this forum. Freedom of speech means nothing when it becomes a career limitting strategy?

Well, if that's the committee vote then so be it John, but from my point of view I see your signature (including the HMRAV Secretary nomenclature) as being conducive to CMA forum members being able to get a direct conduit of access to the club, with regards to answering queries about club policies, upcoming events etc.

Somehow I doubt the removal of your title will in any way diminish your publication of personal opinions or agendas, and rightly so, but if your committee looks back they will see that at no stage have you compromised them or your club in this regard.
I really don't see what they hope to gain, or what will change. You and I don't necessarily always see eye-to-eye on every subject, but I'm in no doubt as to your integrity or passion for our sport.
Keep on punching, son !

Winton is owned by the Benalla Auto Club. With them you write your own ticket!
