Hi folks...

I have just purchased a P4 log booked outfit with a waterbottle fitted.

It was built by Phil (Phill?) Barlow (Barlowe?) in Frankstone Vic circa
1968/9
It has a cantilever rear end with a car Spax short shock and has an idler sprocket on the swinging arm pivot bolt.
I would like to find some early history on this outfit.

The auction has ended on eBay - did you sell it?

I designed machine like that and had Phil Barlow build it for me. I was there many nights helping with the construction. I still have my machine, it seems a few others were made similar to it which surprises me. My swinging arm was also reversed. I would be interested to see your machine or at least photos.

Due to an interstate move I have decided to put my outfit up for sale. It is listed on ebay.

Give me a call if you want it.

Thanks for that, I have a letter from Leigh Straker saying that he assisted Phil in making many frames in the late 60's, and mine was one of the last that he helped with.

More likely to have been built in McDonald Street Mordialloc. Don and Phil were there for yonks. They built great outfits for other people, their own stuff was awful.
