So where are all the period 3 sidecars? - after Mac Park last year - which i mised due to the unfortunate timing of my 50th birthday, i expected 10 - 12 sidey's. Looking forward to meeting some of the southerners i haven't met before.

Just thought I would wish everyone competing this weekend all the best. I hope the meeting goes of well and that you all have fun and a successful event. Hopefully the weather forecasts are wrong and you will also enjoy good weather. Just sorry I cant be there to share it with you.

Snap out of it, you lot ! Where's all the goss and info from the nats - if it's north of the border, it doesn't exist ? The Irving Vincent went mad and flew, Rob Hinton had a cold-tyre crash at turn 2 and did an ankle and a scaphoid, Dave Cole, serial offender, came over from NZ and gave us a clinic again. But that's all hearsay - let's hear from those who were there. Carn guys !

Eastern Creek is a blast and is an incedible track to ride, The guys from Annandale -Leichardt sidecars are great. The scrutineers were a pleasure to talk to and nothing but helpful. Period 3 sidecars had a heap of fun - that Vincent is way fast and handles like it's on rails.I had nothing but trouble on the weekend - pulled motor down believing i had a cracked ring and turned out i had mixed up my feed and return to the oil filter on my A10. Finally solved a breather problem that annoyed me all weekend in my header tank(only showed up on big track) before the last race so spent it having fun with Butch Davies and Wal Dodd. Thanks guys - pleasure to race with you. - Red BSA 23 period 3. - Lex and Sue

I went and as my bike is not old enough I spent Saturday flag marshalling and Sunday spannering for one of the sidecars.

It was an interesting meeting and one filled with surprises, with qualifying for the P4 & 5s starting just before a downpour, Peter Selke, seeing it coming went for what he thought would be his only dry lap, it ended up being the only dry lap by anyone as the session was red flagged after he crossed the line and his was the only time. By the time the session was re run it was very wet and no one got within 28 seconds of his time.

The expected charge from Chivo came to nothing as he had water pump problems and Peter Selke/Christine Williams took race one and race two as well as setting a new lap record before having a misfire on Sunday in both races.

I must disagree with Lex about the Vincent, it was way too sideways to be on rails, it was well ridden and fast.

The highlight I think was race 4 of the P4 & 5 sidecars, with four outfits dicing for the lead all race, all pushing hard even though it was a non-championship race. The non-championship P3 race was probably their best race too with lots of late passing.

The lowlight was Suturday with two big oil spills which reqired a lengthy clean up.

Jeff
