Hello Lads

My PVL ignition arrived last week and I'm about to intall it. I ordered the crank seal as well so it will run 'dry'. The seal mechanism appears to be an aluminium plate about 3" in diameter with an oil seal in it's centre. It looks as though the plate presses onto the crank bearing housing but I can't see what holds it in place nor how it can seal the area. Anyone had experience with these seals?

Thanks
James

could hardly weld it on eh ,drill & tap, small threaded inserts to screw it on to the cases around the main bearing housing if theres enough alloy?,you will have to seal the bottom drain hole too!

Hi James,

If you have a dig camera can you please send some pictures of the seal with your pvl? It may give some clues.

Does it bolt on to the back of the PVL mounting plate?

Maybe send Todd henning racing an email asking for instructions?

Hello Lads

All fixed thanks. I got hold of Buff - he had not sent any instal instructions but has now emailed me the info. It just requires a couple of small holes tapped into the C/case. Any suggestions for some 'goo' to block off that bottom drain hole?
