In this day and age when we frequently hear about race tracks closing, it's heartening to be able to offer some good news! The Whitsunday Motosports Club new road race facility at Airlie Beach, Nth QLD is opening on Sunday 4th December! Special guest Chris Vermeulen, former World Supersport Champion, will ride the first ever laps!

While not a major track in terms of length, the 1.2km layout has been designed specifically for bikes with a flowing layout, a dirt infield section for the Super Motard riders, and very modern ammenities.

Whitsunday Morosports Club has a number of members who have/race Historic bikes and we intend running some Historic Meetings in 2012
either 'stand alone' or in conjunction with other classes.

When not in use for Club events, the track will be available for hire for track days, corporate events and driver training activities.

Anyone wanting further information should call Publicity Officer James Dwight 0402 809 197 or Club President Andrew Auld 0429 875 729

Dear Tony, Glad to see that you will be at Baskerville which was my home track when I was young. It is one of those small tracks. A bit like Broadford but running in the opposite direction. All the best Jerry

nothing wrong with a smaller track this is just what is needed not every track needs to be a phillip island .Over here in the west we have a track in collie thats about the same length and its great .Its tracks like these that will hopefully get people off there couches watching other people doing it and have a go themselves.
