Dave Williams passed away recently following pancreatic cancer.
It was swift in its agressiveness.
Dave has been around Motorcycling Vic and prior to that the ACU for a long time.
He had friends and non friends, but I warmed to him when he offerred help to me organising the first HMRAV event.
He raced sidecars in dirt track and road racing, was a scrutinneer, steward and Historic Commissioner for a while.
He built a Harley Davidson replica, using his skills as a machinist to fabricate barrels and all sorts of bits. John McKonkie rode the Harley at many of our meetings.
He led what some would call a colourful life, but with a sister who was a nun, he had to be protected.
He mentioned to me in late May that he may have cancer, but was awaiting the results.
It certainly came quickly.
