Ok! I'll play BSA's silly game.
Who can tell me what thread is used on the B31 (1951) plunger carrier tube- the one that the top plug screws into?
Mine is 0.861"OD and 20 TPI. If I accept that it is 7/8" OD nominal, what thread system has 20 TPI for 7/8" diameter?
Where can I buy borrow or hire a die nut and tap for such an one?

It is almost metric 2.5 pitch, but there is no 22 mm thread in the metric system.
3/4" BSC (cycle) can be 20 TPI, but I have not seen it in 7/8".
All advice (and abuse) greatfully accepted.
