Now that the P5 machines are turning up we need a trophy. In the past the riders have created a trophy for use. Is there a P5 rider or group who will make a trophy we can give to Peter Guest to hold for the year until somebody beats him next year?

Had an offer independently of this ite from Rex Wolfendon to create something. I have passed the offer on to the committee for consideration.

I think Peters reaction was fair enough.
We have had a poor entry for F/Era races until now. With the low numbers we just did not get our thinking caps on. But yesterday I was told that both the Perpetual Trophies for the Classic and the Post Classic came from the rider groups. In fact it was shortly after that that Rex contacted me. So it may be that that tradition will continue.

as the SA meeting was the same day, i missed the "dummy Spit". although i have seen that rider aproach a line of P5 bikes/riders and proced to inform them all one by one of the items he would be protesting should he encounter said bike/riders on the track once his bike is ready.
i though he should be called the 'peoples policeman' after that.

why is this 3rd group always trying to convince everyone they know best?

Peter is most welcome.
I guess people will just need to have $70 in envelopes for the protests.
But lets stick to the topic it would have been nice to ahve seen a "Thank you Rex" notation or even a "Beady mate!" As a private aside I am often disappointed when I see quick cutting comments and no Thanks / well done comments.

Well done Rex really goes without saying, he has silently, and sometimes not so silently, been one of the backbones of historics for years. i think we all might have taken it for granted that someone like this would step up and mop up the tears. perhaps this might be a sign that some Trex built somethings are about to start playing in forgotten era. On ya rex.

What happens at the track stays at the track.
The issue has been dealt with, everybody is calm and sorry it happenned and we now just want to move on without adding to the gossip rounds.

Hope no-one thought my tattoo comment was an attempt to take a slice, I was referring to the fact that anyone else who wants to get their name on the new trophy is in for the ride of their life, if I practice every day I would still be in the old folks home before getting close to Mr. Guest but at least it gives one something to work towards.
