I would welcome any feed back on this class, in particular if you actually will enter it.

"Discussion paper to establish rules for this class.
PURPOSE
To recognise the fact that off- road bikes were often entered in Road Race meetings in the 1960’s and 1970’s and create a great support event for Historic meetings. It is proposed to have this as a single event at existing Historic Road Race meetings. And the Road Race committee in Victoria may also use the class at B and C grade meetings.

MACHINES
Any off- road, Trial or Trail bike manufactured up to 31 December 1978 will be permitted. May be go to 1980 to permit some dirt track bikes in.
Classes will be Pre 1960, 1970, Pre 1975, Pre 1978[ as per Classic Motocross]
With capacity divisions only if the numbers grow.

LATE NEWS SIDECARS MAY BE ADMITTED TO P4 Sidecar races, more to come.

LOG BOOKS
This is a 'modern' support class and therefore logbooks are not required.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Provision for methanol to be used if required is possible.
All machines must fitted with road tyres, slicks are not permitted.
Original manufactured wheel diameters and widths must be used. Metzler make 21” front tyres that are suitable and there are suitable rear tyres available.
Brakes installed on these machines must be systems available generally during the period of manufacture of the machine, but must remain as the original system style. ie Disc’s cannot be fitted to machines originally fitted with drum brake systems. It is not a matter of safety but a matter of maintaining the integrity of the Class.
For guidance the periods used for Historic Road Racing, ie 1962, 1972 and 1980 will apply when it come to determining the eligibility of any upgraded brake systems.
Standard handlebar widths must be used, and hand positions cannot drop below the top triple clamp, as an integral part of the event is the inherent different machine design.
The following rules from Classic Motocross shall apply to the Nostalgia Chook Chaser.
14.2.2 Classes
14.2.5 Chassis, except for the tyre specification.
14.2.6 Modifications "
I thank anybody for input in advance

got an F11 kawasaki motor and frame here, all that is needed is someone silly enough to ride it. I used to enjoy watching the chookies and still watch (through the grimace) Motards do their stuff but I'll never be brave/mad enough to race one.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we may as well dance
