A while ago , I saw a GS 750 Moto Marin for sale in the trader or just bikes, can't remember wich one, Are these machines P5 elidgable, and could a 1000 motor go in one? and does anyone in Australia build them?, I would like to do something with a hot GS 1000 motor I have, though I would like to build something a bit exotic, a bike for keep sake. Harris, Macintosh, rickman, moto martin, bimota, egli, someones goto know something?

You may not get much of an answer this week-end as quite a few people have gone to Tassie for the National...

I'm also interested in the answer to this question. I believe Ken McIntosh doesn't supply McIntosh Suzuki replica frames. I'd be interested to know what frame manufacturers are capable of in Australia. I know Bob Martin has made a lot of various types, and Steve is probably continuing the business.
Barber Engineering In UK were able to Supply MK2 and MK3 Seeleys for about $3500 a few years back.
And I believe a guy in Qld makes an H2R replica kit. |

| Bob Marin Engineering also do Kawasaki H1R frame kits, they come with frame and swingarm. |

There are still a few frame kit bikes around, in Bikesales there was a Harris GS1000 in SA for sale.
I also bought my Motoplas Suzuki from Bikesales, you just have to keep looking.

| Yeah that is a nice bike, though it is a magnum 2 1981 model, I am still trying to find pictures of the first on the 1980 model, what does a motoplat suzi look like? |

There is rumoured to be 2 or 3 Mcintosh frame kit replicas being built over here in WA. I will beleive it when I see it.
The Motoplas is like a Moto martin, cantilever frame etc.There was about a dozen brought into Australia, they were originally used as Endurance bikes in Europe. |

That XR69 Suzuki was the same sort of motor that Stuart Loly uses, however the specifications mention that it had a six speed box. Does anyone know if the box from the next model, the oilcooled GSX750, fits into the GS1100 cases?
The first production bike with six speeds amongst the Jap fours was the GPZ900, and that gave it a bit of advantage.

| Magnum 2 is a 1981 Harris frame kit. Does anyone know if the frame kits harris did for the GS's were the magnum's only, if so I heard of a bloke nearby were I live producing copies. |

Some of the regular historic racers have been a bit funny about trick frames. However some of the best bikes back in the era had special frames. Rod Tingate and Rene Van Dinteren both had Triumph motors in Rickman frames back in the sixties.
I reckon some of the Jap Superbikes in the 70s with British frames were some of the most exciting bikes of the time. I don't know if the XR69 was actually better than a McIntosh Suzuki?
I'd really like to own Scott Webster's Moto Martin, that's a really beautiful bike, and it's so authentic. |
