I have a bike tank made in the 1950's for a velocette race bike. I have finished the external prep and paint but need a good in tank sealer. I know of the tank sealer produced by PPC but have never used it. Any help would be great.

John, I have used the PPC product on a BSA B31 tank that was full of rust. Initially repaired with lead fill, then sealed with the PPC. No problems since, and it has been close to 3 years.
Cheers, Tony.

I dont know that product but I have used a product from an aircraft supplier which worked well but wasnt suitable for methanol. Methanol being what it is be careful if thats the fuel of choice.

PPC POR-15 is the product and is suitable only for petroleum based fuels. If properly applied and the external surface sealed and painted correctly, the tank would be good for life.

Update...

just got the latest PPC catalogue, they have a tank treatment now that is rated to be used on tanks for ALL fuels, it is called US tank sealer and can be obtained from

www.por15.com.au

Fax: (02) 9999 0394

email: sales@ppc.au.com

they have agents in most capital cities.

I have no interest in or connection with the manufacturer or sellers of the products, just highly impressed with the results of using them

cheers

Popeye.

Although it is made for metal tanks, I've used US Tank Sealer on my fibreglass tank. It was terrific - no problems.
