Hi all, I am Dave Vaughan from the UK and am looking and trying to get hold of Stan Bayliss who used to be the 70's sidecar champ who I was fortunate to meet and know and would like to find him. I have raced solo motorcycles with success and also became a sidecar passenger of International level with championships. I met Stan in the 70's and had good times and a good relationship with him and his mate Colin. Stan gave me the chance to emigrate to Oz and like a dick I turned him down where I might have made something of myself with the artistic flair that I have. I tried peter lee on his Hayabusa site without success, and am asking you chaps out there if you know of Stans whereabouts and contact? if you know Stan please let him know that I am seeking him and wish him my best regards but would like to chat. If not maybe someone knows where Steve bayliss might reside (his son)as I'd really like to trace Stan and his family. I hope that someone out there can help as i haven't seen or heard of Stan since the late 70's. Barry Ditchburn......if you are reading this, do you know of Stans whereabouts, and I send you my regards from Tonbridge , Kent, UK, as I used to follow you when you were with Team kawasaki with Mick Grant, and of course you lived nearby in Northfleet. Stan or Steve if your reading this then get in touch, lots to chat about. Stan reckon I wouldn't make it.......I bloody well did!!! anyone want a british passenger, absolutely no fear! Thanks you guys and gals. Regards to you all. Hayabusadave/ Dave Vaughan.

Dave, I'm sorry to have to tell you, I believe Stan Bayliss has passed away. I spoke to his son at Winton last year, and he told me what had happened to particular motorcycles in his estate. You can probably find the young guy through Motorcycling Australia. |
Is your machine authentic or merely eligible? |

Hi Acotrel,
Many thanks for the information although real sad at hearing that Stan had passed away. Bugger to long.......I had another reply that might get me contact to steve, so here's hoping. I will try 'Motorcycling Australia', and I thank you for your speedy reply.
Best regards.
