Hi all,
I am trying to fing out any info on the Mentor Motorcycles CB900 base superbike ridden by W Gardner in the early eighties. Dose anyone have any photographs? Is Billy Hill still around? I am considering building a replica and would like to speak to anyone whom was involved with this bike.
Regards Mike

I understand there were two look-alike Mentor Hondas, and one is in the museum at the Bathurst Circuit. You can take you own photos! Apparently one of the bikes was much more developed than the other.

I have a DVD of the 1983 castrol six hour and another from another meeting the same year. Dou you want a copy? I believe they show the Mentor Honda in action with Gardner riding.

I've had a look at the video, and I believe Waynes bike was a VF1000R in 1984.
There are some photos at:

Mike,

I've been trying to track down Billy from Mentor for ages. Haven't had much luck. I used to work there on weekends with him and want to keep in touch with him. If you find out where he is (somewhere in Queensland) please let me know.

Dominic

Thanks for your reply Dominic
Have not tracked down Billy as yet. Do you have any knowledge/info on the CB900 based superbike? Also as a matter of interest I believe the Castrol 6 Hour winning '82 CB1100RC went to Japan, is this correct?

The bike was built by ex-F5000 ace wrench Peter Molloy, I believe he is still about and may turn up at the Tasman Revival at Eastern Creek, failing that it may be worth your while to try the atlasf1.com web site forum, someone on there will be able to put you in touch with him I'd reckon
