Not too much of a problem JVD, although the Americans obsess about it. You may find info about possible alternatives on the Todd Henning/Buff Harsh website, or even M3 Racing, but the best source of reliability insurance is to replace the cam chain every season, and ensure that the rubber rollers are in good condition. DO NOT use a clip on the camchain, use a peenable link, if you replace the chain each year you should have no grief. Some people use kart drive chain, I found you could buy Tsubaki chain off the roll in Sydney some years ago and bought enough for 10 chains, that'll last me for years. But as with the original end caps for your cam, you should have no problem if you replace the item as a means of preventative maintenance. Good luck with your build. |
