Now a few questions are being asked about what this concept is about, I will put my money where my mouth is and build one.
I have a lot of the parts and only need a strong stock engine.
I will seek a bit of help if its available.
It will have the look we are trying to represent.
I shall try and have it ready by tghe Southern Classic.

Are you trying to start a class for bikes which don't exist? I thought historic racing was about preserving old race machinery?

John, the support race for MotoGP in 2009 clearly demonstrates the promotable concept. It included superbikes from period 4 and period 5. All the concept needs to be is for logbooked multicylinder fourstroke bikes over 500cc. Run in two capacity classes - 750 and Unlimited. Here is the 2009 race:

I geg to differ about the current batch of P5 machines being even close to 1975 machines.

What about the Hondas in Period 4. They're typical mid-seventies AMA superbikes.
