Hi Steve

Last Time I raced at Phillip Island there were a couple of Kiwi's on McIntosh Susuki's 3 in total & a couple of road registed Mac's turned up on Sunday. 2002 I think that's the year I'm sure some of the Vic's racers could get some details for you as I think they raced at a couple more events down South over the Month they were here. lately I noticed a Honda McIntosh for sale in Just Bikes recently mite be worth a look.

Stephen, There are a few McIntosh's around, what exactly have you got? You can Email Ken directly at ken@mcintoshracing.com and he'll hopefully tell you exaxtly what year he built the frame if its genuine. I'm assuming its probably a McIntosh Suzuki you're putting together but it could be a McIntosh Manx.

Thankyou to everyone who offered advise.Hinto and others helped me with what's legal and what's not. Yes it's a Suzuki Mac. Im actually building two. One to race and one to register on the road. I fear that getting registered will be the most stressfull part of the whole exercise. Thanks again Stevo

There was a McIntosh Suzuki racing at the last interclub at Winton. I believe there is a Mac Suzuki road bike which lives in Wangaratta. Both are based on GS1100s. Apparently they are eligible for BEARS racing. I've seen them advertised for about $10,000 in Just Bikes from time to time, also there have been people advertising for them in the want ads.

Is your machine authentic or merely eligible?

I just picked up a road 1150 BR2 Mac... one of 7 built, 2 race frames still here in NZ and 5 road... 2 in NZ 3 in Oz.
I would be interested in talking with other owners or former owners of Mcintosh machines.

Not sure when I will be back here to cheak the messages so mail me direct at gavinnz "at" xtra.co.nz

regards
Gavin

There was a thread quite recently that went into all sorts of detail about McIntosh frames. There are a couple competing in Period 5 and I think the most prominent would be Matt Childs who I think hails from SA.
To the best of my knowledge only the first version is permitted but I cant remember the details which make the difference. maybe as Al Kidd suggested contact Ken himself or failing that maybe Marcus De Caux maybe able to help
Why bother anyway when Stuart Loly uses a Suzuki frame and usually beats everyone but then he is West Aussie even if the Vics have claimed him.
