I am a new enthusiast in this sport and would love to know the rules and regs for my future races without having to pick through the 'Manual of Motorcycle Sport 2003'Ie. is it forgotten era or post classic timeframe?

Its fairly straight forward. The lastest date of any one of the major components sets the period. Sorry to give you the bad news but you really should make the effort and study the GCR's because ya cant race if ya arent full bottle on the rules. You can also write to the relevant Management Committee for your discipline.
