Bin thinkin Perhaps we could use this site to work out a package we could present to a promoter which would use their meeting to promote Historic Racing. So if we broke it down - what do we want to achieve? - How many events? - What classes would best represent the discipline? - What track would be preffered? - Any meetings in mind? - Would we attend just the one day,? - Which day is prefered? . . - Could we get 8 sidecar events into the package? - Which promoters would we approach - Could it be run interstate, not necessarily as a series just a package? Lets work on it.

John, I'd like to see the following events in one program: 650 Sidecars Handicap Unlimited Sidecars Historic Superbikes 750 Pushrod 1000 Pushrod 500 GP Singles and Twins 350 GP Singles and Twins Formula Historic Japanese Formula Historic Bears
In these events the bikes would have to be completely eligible for one of the MA 'periods', however any year bike up to P6 could run in any event, as long as the capacity and engine format was correct. Two strokes would have to have a 'double capacity' factor when entering. This would mean 500 cc two stroke sidecars whould have to run un the unlimited class, and 250cc single two strokes could run in the 500 GP Singles and Twins Class. Post 72 bikes would have the 'no alcohol' handicap. |
Is your machine authentic or merely eligible? |

What we need is something the promoters can use at a modern meeting to promote Historic Racing and give them something different. I am worried your suggestion Alan would mean we may take over the Modern meeting. But lets use it as a plan for an Historic Meeting. But sticking to a promotional concept, what could we run at a modern meeting to excite the juices of the crwod to at least think about lokking at or becoming involved with Historic Stuff. I would have thought apart from the sidecars, perhaps Manx Nortons and perhaps an event full of two strokes, say 350cc, 3 events max. Modern events have heaps of big bore 4 strokes, so we may not need to demonstrate them. |

John, I suggest that any race with Craig Morris, John Maher and Keith Campbell in it is worth watching, however I believe the Molnar/Summerfield Manx has just been sold to a slower rider so the front runner won't be there for a while. 500cc P3 is the prime class in Historic Road Racing, however I'd exclude any Jap bikes from an exhibition at a 'moderns' meeting. |

That idea sounds interesting. Why the ban on the Jap stuff, it is not around nowadays and may prove interesting? |

We need ideas to run the Southern Classic Rally. The BSA Owners Club do not believe they have enough time to promote the event. I am hoping we can still pull the rally section off because we need the accommodation for spectators |
