The entry forms for the island classic are out now (6 mounths early) and before the nationals .Its a pity to tie up so mutch money on the of chance of getting a pit garage but it is the island experince. We need 15 bikes for an event i am IN! only 14 to go, lets get orginzed early so there is no last minuite rush . I believe a house has been booked and dont know if there is extra space but wen i find out i will enter it here .

Hey Dougie, Peg and I are picking up the new outfit hopefully next week and we have penciled in the Island Classic as a must do, so we will be there to have a play with you and Hightower - 12 to go. Don't know whether Bondy will go, I think you have him a little bit worried about the improvements on your chair hahahaha but I'll let him decided whether he going or not. |

As of 17 Dec.2007 22 sidecars are entered with more due to arrive. Looks like we are gonna have a party!
Now we should challenge some of the sol riders to try and match us for numbers of machines, what about it? |

How many Period 3 sidecars are entered? |
Is your machine authentic or merely eligible? |

Thanks for that. I'll ring and check. The link only goes to the 07 event, that's why I asked where the forms are? Cheers, Peen. |

Bewdifool, we're in. I rang and spoke with them, special consideration for sidecars (as there should be!). That means that a late entry is not a problem. Now for those sphincter exercises to keep everything in place, its our first race!! Cheers, Peen. |

HHHmmm am thinking that Bondy has a bit of a problem ........ but then again I did hear a whisper that he was trading in all of his mates and getting new ones. So .... wanted 3-4 mates, must be able to drink lots of beer yet still be able to pick bondy up when he falls down, not allow him to drink any spirits or red wine, attend to any first aid requirements and be able to drive home from ALL race meets - interested applicants should apply with-in. |

Hope you realise Tony, any favours or technical knowledge passed onto you must be repaid in Beers, and since it's going to be your first meet, then your shout..... |

ony, just dont let any of thse Ararat blokes near your passenger. They have been known to give them FREE beer which of course is always a dangerous thing to do. |

Hmmm, me thinks a challenge has been set? Buck doesn't need pickled onions let me tell you, its genetic thing in our family!! John, don't worry, I have heard about "that Western District mob". I hear that Bondi left a bit more than rubber at the come and try day, a bit of flesh possibly? I can't trll you all how much we are looking forward to PI. The racing and the extra carricular activities sound like they are rigth up Buck's and my alley. Merry Christmas to all, keep safe, and we'll see you at PI. Peen(The older and wiser brother) |

Challenge .... did you say Challenge there Peen?????? Will bring the Onions and the chillies .... hahahahaha Yeah Bondy left his mark in the pit sheds, was good to see that his blood is red and not amber in colour (He's blaming Dougie Dukes ....) He did leave some rubber around the track too ..... now he needs a new tyre ...lol Ok I'm not going to pick on him any more as he has paid me lots of money and a promise that he will let us beat him at the island. He also told me that the outfit will get a new paint job soon ...... but I can't figure out what colour "Man Salmon" is... any ideas?????

What happened to the struggle of recent years to get numbers for the event? Not a bad thing these days I might add, as the 27(?)that will be there will provide for some great racing. We might even get to compete with someone in our class? (that is, absolute beginners with underpowered engines) We'll be there first thing Friday morning. I'll apologise for Buck and I in advance, as we will be asking a lot of questions, being newbies. Cheers, peen0_0 (Tony) (the older and wiser brother) |

The struggle continues, Tony, we need to keep the momentum rolling and keep attracting more teams to egt involved. I remember racing against 40 outfits in the early '70's and I see no reason why we cannot build the numbers again. It is great to see th enthusiasim amongst all the current teams. Wait till we run a special Sidecar race meeting to show case all aspects, classes and styles of sidecars. They do it in the UK and I feel in a couple of years if the moderns get lifted we will be able to run a sidecar promotion race meeting. |

Well some of you may have noticed that we did not get to the Island. And let me tell you that we were not happy to be forced into that situation. Anyway, what I want to know now is where is all the news from the Island, who did what? what were the races like? who drank too much? who made a fool of themselves? what was the overall scene? Come on, share it with those of us who had to sit at home unhappy! Geoff Sidecar #30 |

Cant remember much Geoff. That methanol with Shell M tastes real nice. Bondy and his gang were behaving more like solo riders with their wobble shoes on, a TZ750 ridden by D Chivas beat everybody. Max Hooper had his new P5 on methanol, Neil Paton rode well to 2nd, Bruce on the white P5 had to compete with P4's all around him like pups in a dogs home. The pack of 22 broke quickly into about 4 groups of competition so the spectators had plenty to watch. Geoff Irwin even pinged a bunny on turn 11 which resulted in Geoff heading for the kitty litter and the rabbit giving up breathing in shock. Rabbit stew was tough, but Geoff managed to keep rolling. Moral " Rabbit in pot is better than Kitty litter in mouth"
Pud on the Turners old rig went well, and Adam Treasure on a Dewith Built ran well even though clutch and fuel problems keet him to about 1.55's. Chrissy Clancy now sees the world differently having ridden with Adam. I hear John Clancy is worried Adam may have whispered in her ear because her legs were shakey and she had a smile too embarrassing to mention across her face. Seems like John Clancy may need to improve his performance, thats what I heard anyway. The Bendigo boys had handling problems along with a new BMW which looked very pretty but would not go around left hand bends. Steve Hari and Cynthia beat a few Hondas with Eddie Lopaz's Classic BMW outfit. A new comer to our meetings from Adelaide turned up, blue Honda, cant remember name. But I encouraged them to consider Broadford at th end of March. I better stop now is case I incriminate anybody else.

"Bondy and his gang were behaving more like solo riders with their wobble shoes on" Am gutted John, surely you not comparing us to Solo riders ..... did we help those that asked for help - Yes, did we encourage others to "Have a go" - Yes (nice move round turn one Doug .... ) Did we invite others to after hours activities - Yes (sorry Tony, Buck n Matt) Did we provide smart remarks to those with PINK outfits - Yes, did we push Geoff n Eric really hard through turns 11 n 12 so he could run over the rabbit - Yes (Will provide photographic evidence of this) did well all watch Bondy puke in the pits after he len't his leathers to a solo rider for the parade lap - yes. Did we offer a shady environment to those that wanted to get out of the sun - yes ....... hahahahahahaha - another great weekend had by all and our apologies to anyone that may not have had a beer with us over the weekend.

Thanks for the update guys, now I am even more unhappy that I was not able to be there...
But we are now aiming for the Broadford in March.
PS: It would be great if someone can come up with a name of the other Adelaide sidecar rider so that I can contact them and further encourage them to come to Broadford.

Hey Geoff, Yeah you missed agreat meet, but we are prepared to do it all again just for you and Craig at Broadford. I think who John was refering to was Bob McKinnon who was riding Wag's outfit. Last I heard I think he was coming to the Vic titles in March.

Bretta, I realise it was a cheap shot. I just had to say something, bad and I am still worried about you blokes getting near my passenger. Seriously All of the sidecar teams were great and I have to say the hospitality of the team Brass Balls is a credit to all those involved with the Brass Balls team. If we can have more of that from all who get involved with sidecars, we can only enjoy our special part of motorcycles to a greater extent. |

Yep John I agree. I was swinging for Bob McKinnon on Wags' outfit that weekend...I dont know if he's going to make it to Broadford, but the two of us are having another go in May at Mac Park. The hospitality of the Brass Balls team was something I was lucky enough to be a part of, and I have a lot to thank them for. |
