G,day guys Looking for tyres for a p4 outfit 13 in rims. \Most tyres are aprox 550 rolling dia these will not fit, i have a old dunlop slick whitch is 490 mm dia these are now unavailable ive been told, most tyre retailers tell me nothing smaller than 21 in or 533mm dia this is still to large unless i modify the front down tube to raise the steering head any advice on tyres or tyre sellers would be helpfull. By the way the rule book says "MOULDED" type treaded tyres Doug

Have you tried Formula Ford Tyres, they have a small diameter and are available in Dunlop and Avon. I have sold my bike that had them on but could check it out if you have trouble. I used to use fronts but some guys have used the larger rears. If you cant get them over your way let me know and I will check prices here for you. If you want to deal direct Kostera Tyrse in Kalamunda is the local Dunlop agent in WA but I forget the Avon agent.
Let me know how you get on.

Doug, sorry but this is proving harder than I first thought. Formula Ford run Avon semi slicks but are 6/21x13 and 7/22x13. Too big for you. I will keep looking for you. Cheers, John |

Doug, have you had any luck? It sounds to me that what you are looking for would be a 195/40x13 and such things are, as far as I can determine, not made. However, I will keep looking. Cheers, John |

Perhaps they allow for tyre growth at speed. Hope it works for you. Cheers, John |

I've got some Swedish videos here that should help it grow 15mm. |

A practice day at Broadford? We've fired this thing of ours up. Hopefully our body work will be in paint in a couple of days. Can anybody play?

While on the subject of tyres. Can anyone recommend a supplier for 12" racing stock? We are running Renault R10 rims at present with 6ply LT radials (cheese cutters).
Flacky, the "Pink Pig" will be at the Broadford practice day as well, Mwahahahaha.

Try Stuckeys, they claim to have a good range for minis. Good luck. Cheers, John |

Stuckeys can help us out with a reasonable range of tyres. Just talking to a few more experienced people to determine what might be our best option. Must admit though that the LT tyres worked very well in the wet at practice on Sunday. I'll report back when we make the decision and try the new set. Cheers, Tony. |

Good stuff! At least you know that you can get something when the need arises. Painting your rims black is a poor substitute for real tyres. Cheers, John |
