We are looking seriously at a regularity event for Winton this year. We are asking for more events and will study what we can do to fill the existing events. Any machine in the regularity event will need to following - Pre 1972 machines so we keep the oldies look - No log book because no racing - Rider will choose the lap time they will try to maintain, winner is that one closest to the time listed. - recreational licence will suffice at a cost of $15. - Note a weekend pass costs $40 - Entry fee may be $30 for one practise Sat. morning and the last event for each day only - Because of the limited space in the pits no vehicle pass will be issued and since racing speeds are not an issue, massive tool boxes etc are considered necessary. What are your thoughts please?

Well we have 25 machines that have expressed an interest in attending. If you have any thoughts you want taken into consideration please dont hold back, otherwise we will move on blindly. Existing entravts may pay only $5 admin fee to enter a bike. |

Just keeping you posted. We are working with MV and MA to ensure we meet rule 29.7.1.1 in the GCR's which define Recreational activities. |

Feedback from South Australia Noted your query re regularity events in the commission minutes. We ran regularity events for a few years in conjuction with our state titles. Format was that machines had to comply with period allocations, undergo safety checks including lock wired sump plugs etc, fitted with numberplates front and lap scorers side of machine, race bikes allowed but not with the championship rider on board (most were sons, brothers, fathers and one wife). Event was run under a separate non competitive permit, one event licences, scored by the most consistent lap times over 4 consecutive laps within a 10 - 12 minute event. Ran a dummy event in the morning so people could get a feel for it and ran the real one mid afternoon. The first lap was not scored as it was treated as a warm up lap and at Mallala (2.6Km) it worked out that 5 laps was about right. It was killed off when one event licences doubled in price and interest waned. Positive was that we got a few new competitors out of the exercise so it wasn't a complete loss. Hope this is of some help. Regards Phil Baughan
