Surely it's about time MA recinded the rule about 'no RD parts' in post classic classes. The rule might have been appropriate when you could get plenty of of parts for T500 Suzukis and H1/H2 Kawasakis, but it's getting a bit silly now. If you want to win in Post Classic you need a TR3 Yamaha with TZ350G chambers, crank and ingnition system, preferably running on methanol.
Let's let the kids have a go. Let them run RD's, they're relatively cheap and certainly in keeping with the era. When I raced my Triumph in the early seventies the RD's always gave me a hard time, they were the mainstay of racing for years, and at least you can still get plenty of parts.
I suggest we should all approach MA through our respective clubs and get the rule changed now.

Dear Alan and Readers - Just a quick note to say that if you wish to get the 'young ones' onto RDs, then this is perfectly catered for in Period 5 of the Post Classics, also called FORGOTTEN ERA. (see postclassicracing.com )

We have very healthy fields of both standard and modified RD250s and 350s racing with PCRA NSW and there may in fact be a seperate trophy class for 'standard' machines in 2002. We'll see if there is enough interest for this. The other possible change involves INVITING Period 4 Post Classics to not only compete in P4 races but also to enter in relevant P5 gridsx for extra fun and fuller grids. IF YOU have any comments on the above 2 points, please email us at pcra@bigpond.com ....

The unavailibility of parts for P4 machines is sad. I guess natural attrition will see P5 parts go the same way, but hopefully not for another 20 years.... good luck looking for P4 parts though...
