Hi All,

I figure some extra training might be a good idea for a number of newbies to Historic racing, myself included. Has anyone floated the idea of some of our more esteemed members running a course on track craft etc? A training day a Broadford perhaps?

There are plenty of courses for moderns, but a historics course would be great.

Cheers, Ben.

Ben,

Considering the trial and tribulations newbies go through, I think this is a good idea.

All clubs have had communications from Motorcycling Victoria regarding training days - there are a number of heavily subsidised options available.
At this stage the only weekend date for this year at Broadford that may become available is Saturday October 27.
If someone wants to email a proposal in the next few days then please do so.
I am sure a day for historics would be well supported - if something else is on that day then there is next year to consider.

We've had the Honda MX Training day at the new Winton MX track recently. In the beginning the kids used to reach the jumps and 'back off'! After a few hours training they were clearing the jumps completely. It got a bit expensive for one dad. He had to buy his kid a new bike. The young guy had outgrown his old one in the one training day!

Ben, Preston run training days at Broadford.Sure they are mostly attended by modern bikes but I'm sure there would be no dicrimination against any historics. Give Francis Conroy a call on 9309 9708 Cheers, John
