I think we need to start with a clean slate.
When I started to promote sidecars which resulted in the improvements we have all seen,I aimed at new blood, not former racers who had 1000 reasons not to race.
We aimed at people who had never thought of racing a sidecar or did not know where to start.
I believe the point is being missed, we need new ideas to get new people. We dont need buckets they are catered for, we dont need people who dont have the balls to deal with wives with other ideas, we dont need people who cant camp or have the passion. WE NEED PASSIONATE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO ENJOY RACING OLD BIKES.
Lets look at this, if you want to frig around with less passionate people its a waste of time. Please realise that fact and start again.
Now the HMRAV come and try day could be used as a great starting point, we may need a few bikes and some leathers. I had a bloke in my shop yesterday who I told about the day and he is keen.
So this part of the plan involves getting some bikes, how do we do that?
And some spare leathers, that may take some work through newsletters etc for spare sets to be brought along.

If we promote the come and try day it may be a success but if we keep it a secret it will be a failure. I plan on getting to Broadford tomorrow so hopefully will be able to catch up with Patrick. I'm also hoping to catch up with John Beckley. Will keep you posted. Cheers, John |
