Does this mean I can also enter my period 4 350 in with the period 4 500's next race?

16.2.1.2 Competitors are eligible to enter:
a) the capacity and Era class as
shown in the machine’s logbook
and,
b) the next capacity class in that Era

Dead right, and Laurie Turnbull has been getting away with it for a couple of years already, he rode classic 500 and post-classic 500 at the last Southern Classic, and IIRC did so at the Island as well. If you enter both Nick, I will too !

Just a note of clarification, Laurie has two logbooks, he changes enough bits to be eligible for P4. Swaps back for P3 races.
This new rule allows you to enter the next capacity class in the same era. But not the next era/period.
So one bike, one logbook you can legally enter up one capacity as well as the bikes logbooked capacity.

Maybe John can answer this.. Is there an extra cost in running the same machine in 2 classes?

I can answer that - at Phillip Island it was $40 per class for the extra 4 rides rides.
Great value. I hope other promoters follow suit.
