Hi All,

I've been into bikes for about 20 years now and have mainly been a tinkerer rather than a rider. I realy enjoy riding but I get a lot of pleasure from working on my bikes. I haven't been actively riding for a couple of years I've just been working on a few projects. I've finally got my XS Cafe racer finished and as I built it one thing I had in mind was a bit of classic racing. I assume the XS fits into post classic as I believe it's for bikes before 1972? the XS came out in 1969/70.

I've been working on the XS on and off for a few years now and I kind of like the idea of taking it for a punt round the track with similar bikes. That's what these machines are made for

I'm not Mick Doohan and the thought of jumping in the deep end at a race meet is a little intimidating. Just how many times am I going to be lapped?

So how do I get involved and learn what to do at one of these race meets? Where does an XS650 fit in the classes? how do I work out whether my bike is OK for the class as far as regulations and safety etc? Where and when are the races and do I need a racing licence?

Thanks for any advice.

Cheers
Mike
